I mean... Just look at this.
There’s no way that’ll improve the handling.

I used to see old Hondas with tiny 9 or 10 inch wheels and rubber band tires driving around.

I would pay to see real versions of these cars actually attempt to move.
Bonus monies if it was on a race track.

They’re reducing unsprung weight.

These are much smaller than 9 or 10 inch tires though.

Tiny wheels racing!!!!

I kinda do want a car that will throw sparks.

Dat rotational mass doe.

But also reducing their brake size.

Who says they haven’t converted to inboard brakes?
![]() 04/11/2016 at 15:18 |

How does that even work? You can’t fit wheels that small on a car that’s been introduced in the last 30 or so years. The brake discs would be too large. On my car, a 20+ year old design, 15" is the smallest that will cover the discs. 16" on the V6 version.

That’s really the only way it would be practical.

i’d rather flames than sparks
![]() 04/11/2016 at 15:21 |

Nah, they just pulled them off. All they do is slow you down!

Oh my, these things are great! I want this in my life. This is a whole new level of absurd. It is so bad that it is good. I want to see this in real life!

Many of the econoboxes here came with 13" wheels, probably drum brakes too. I’m not sure 9" or 10" would fit, but 13" still looks tiny.

Yeah. Just reminded me of that time
![]() 04/11/2016 at 15:30 |

I actually kinda like that on the Audi
![]() 04/11/2016 at 15:33 |

This is true. But 13" is a long way from 9". Also, the 13" days surely ended in the early 1990s? Especially on anything larger than a subcompact.

The owner, obviously:

Porque no los dos?

9 or 10 may be slightly exaggerated. I’m going off 15 year old memories. Possibly more like 11 or 12. Stock wheels were 13s or so for civics of that era (think 80s) and the new wheels looked even smaller. Slam it to the ground and add a fart can. I remember them rolling through my dad’s neighborhood barely moving but sounding like they were going 80. My guess is tiny wheels combined with winding out 1st means high rpm while low speed
![]() 04/11/2016 at 15:39 |

You’re right. Just let friction against the ground slow you.
![]() 04/11/2016 at 15:41 |

Please just do it for a civic.

People stance Miatas on 13s.

So... shakotan/bosozoku just without the fun stuff?
![]() 04/11/2016 at 15:45 |

Oh I would never do it. I am 100% with the function before form crowd. The only reason why I would sacrifice some function would be due to cost restriction. Spending more money to have less performance is just asinine to me haha. But these look so hilarious that I want to see it drive in the real world. More out of morbid curiousity than anything else.

And those people are wrong.

I remember there was an Audi built for a show that had wheel covers.

I think that’s taken to the extremes.

I don’t think it’s that bad.

such
stupid things to cars, that you never know...

Yes people do stupid things, but I hope no one will do that.
